POEMS – the Portuguese Competence Centre in Semiconductors is a project supported by the Chips Joint Undertaking and its members, including top-up funding by FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. Framed under Chips for Europe, this initiative addresses key priorities of Axis 1 of the National Semiconductor Strategy, focusing on capacity building and technological advancement. It aims to position Portugal at the forefront of semiconductor innovation and production, especially in microelectronics and semiconductors—areas that are crucial for strengthening national industrial and technological capabilities.
