INESC TEC International Visiting Researcher Programme 2026

The 2026 INESC TEC International Visiting Researcher Programme (IIVRP) Cal for Applications is now open.

The programme welcomes applications from researchers affiliated with foreign institutions, with preference given to senior researchers. Outstanding Master's and PhD students may also be considered.

Research visits must have a duration of one to three months. Stays may commence from 15 September 2026 and must be completed by 31 July 2027.

Applicants are advised to save their progress regularly using the "Resume Later" option. Applications may be accessed and edited through the same link until final submission.

Research Topics

Start and End Dates

Research internships must last from one month (minimum) to three months (maximum). They may start at any time as of the 15th of September 2026 and must not extend beyond the 31st of July 2027.

Please attach a one-page motivation letter in English, clearly stating the proposed research objectives and their potential impact beyond the visiting period. Demonstrate a clear and explicit vision for achieving joint outcomes such as international co-authored publications, policy briefings, or funding applications. Failure to address these points may result in a lower evaluation score.
