INESC TEC International Visiting Researcher Programme

The Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC) is excited to announce the opening of the 2025 INESC TEC International Visiting Researcher Programme (IIVRP) Call for Applications. 

Building on the success of previous editions, this call is open to researchers worldwide, with a preference for senior candidates. However, bright Master’s and PhD students from foreign institutions are also encouraged to apply.

The visiting research period must last between one and three months. Research internships may start from September 30, 2025, and must be completed by July 31, 2026.

Please attach a one-page motivation letter in English, clearly stating the proposed research objectives and their potential impact beyond the visiting period. Demonstrate a clear and explicit vision for achieving joint outcomes such as international co-authored publications, policy briefings, or funding applications. Failure to address these points may result in a lower evaluation score.

Please, attach a letter of support in English from your supervisor/manager at your home institution on official letterhead, confirming their agreement with your stay at INESC TEC under the International Visiting Researcher Programme.
