UT Austin Portugal Research Sprint Residencies

Accelerating Portugal–UT Austin Research Collaboration

The UT Austin Portugal Research Sprint Residencies support short-term, intensive research stays at The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), enabling researchers affiliated with Portuguese organizations to develop focused research and innovation activities in collaboration with UT Austin hosts.

Applicants may apply through one of the following tracks:

Faculty Track

Duration: 2 to 8 consecutive weeks

Researcher Track

Duration: 4 to 8 consecutive weeks

Before submitting an application, applicants should ensure that:

they are affiliated with a Portuguese academic institution, research organization, or company;
they have identified a UT Austin host and obtained the host's support;
they have discussed and agreed upon a preliminary work plan with both their Portuguese supervisor/manager and their UT Austin host;
they are able to undertake a full-time, in-person residency at UT Austin;
they are proficient in English.

Applications are reviewed according to the Program's application rounds and evaluated for scientific value, contribution to UT Austin, feasibility, expected outcomes, and potential for collaboration.
